Before, no makeup. Please excuse the unsightly Duo lash glue leftover from the night before.
After
Today, for the first time I got "Extreme Lashes"!! I wear fake eyelashes very often, but don't like having to rip them off at night and especially don't like how the inner corner pokes me if I don't cut them just right. My fiance's birth mom (he was adopted as a newborn) is a certified Extreme Lash artist and did these for me. She knew I wanted the most "extreme" of the different choices, so she used three different sizes on my lashes, small to large going from the inner corner out. Here's some information on eyelash extensions from Xtreme Lashes:
-Semi-permanent eyelashes that last indefinitely with touch ups every 2-4 weeks
-Weightless, with a natural look and feel (They really are weightless! I can't tell I'm wearing anything)
-Painless, relaxing procedure that takes 90-150 minutes
-Water resistant so you can swim or shower worry free
-Lengthens and thickens without the need for mascara
From what I've heard, Xtreme Lashes is the best company to go with for eyelash extensions. They are a highly reputable company, and a nurse founded the company; they use top grade medical bonding glue, etc. and it does not damage your lashes or eyes. True to the statements above, they are painless and weightless! I don't feel like I'm wearing anything on my eyes. An added bonus is that I don't have to put on mascara!! And I can feel a little less like a scrub going to the gym.

Bridesmaid Letters
I got the idea to send my Bridesmaids and maid of Honor letters from Running in High Heels. I think it's such a cute way to let your bridesmaids to know you want them to be by your side at your wedding! I had my dad make them as he is a graphic desginer/owns a printing business.
What do you think?

Chanel Hydramax Serum: A Review
During this time of the year, my skin freaks out, leaving me with flaky, chapped areas, especially on my forehead between my eyebrows. To maintain a smooth, moisturized appearance, I have a very high maintenence skincare routine. One of the most important products that has improved my skin tremendously is Chanel's Precision Hydramax Serum. Here's what it does, according to amazon:
- Activated waterproofing proteins to help restore moisture in cells
- Stimulates reconstruction of intracellular cement to preserve moisture between cells
- Skin surface is pampered with exceptional hydration & comfort
- Leaves skin soft, smooth, supple and protected
- Suitable for all skin types and ages
When I was at the Chanel counter, the saleslady told me that it actually changes the pH balance of your skin over time with regular use (the amazon description pretty much says this). This serum is supposed to be paired with your moisturizer to lock in the serum and keep your face looking hydrated all day. I use my La Mer moisturizer on top of the serum. I love, love the scent of the Hydramax serum, it's so light and fresh. It really does get the job done at hydrating the skin and never leaves my face looking greasy. I love that when I put my makeup on over the serum, it stays and applies fabulously. The consistency is more like a gel than a moisturizer but it instantly hydrates the skin. My only complaint is the price; $80 for 1 oz, which brings me to...
I bought this serum about a year ago and I find it to be comparable to Chanel's Hydramax Serum. I don't know if it has long-term effects on the skin but it definitely does its job at hydrating the skin upon putting it on. If you don't want to spend the hefty $80 on the Chanel serum, I would say definitely pick this up for $17.50 at your local drugstore.

Loving: Military Inspired Outerwear
I am obsessed with this Free People Military Ruffle Jacket. It is the perfect mix of feminine and...well, military. Forever 21 has so many options for Military jackets and vests, but I think this one trumps them all! How do you guys feel about Military inspired outerwear?

Cutting Out the Crap
Since my post in June about losing weight and toning up, I've lost about 20 lbs on a good day, 15 on a bad day. What I've done is cut my calories to about 1200-1500 per day and kept up with my work out routine. My problem now is not eating the right stuff. I know full well what I should be eating, but that doesn't always happen. For example, after my 6-10 PM class gets out (after a day of work) I race to the nearest fast food place instead of going home to cook myself a healthy meal. Who wants to do that at 11 PM? Not me. An article I found this morning served as my wake-up call on consuming fast food, specifically, my poison of choice, McDonalds. Take in this shocking fact: in the chicken nuggets and fries meal, there are 10 grams of trans fat used in the US; in Spain there are 3, and in Denmark 0.33. Yes, you read that correctly. US McDonalds restaurants use significantly more Trans fats than other countries. Being a former pre-med student, I know that consuming Trans fats increase your chances of Coronary Heart Disease and that the body is not able to fully metabolize/remove trans fat.
I've decided that enough is enough. It's time to focus on preparing healthy meals BEFORE my long day of work/school and sticking to it. Instead of letting my mixed green salad and other vegetables wilt in the fridge, I'm going to start using them. Hopefully I will finally start using my "meal planner" which I have failed at using in the past and my new Clean Food: A Seasonal Guide to Eating Close to the Source cookbook. I'll keep you updated on that along with healthy recipes that I like. Have any of you had similar issues? How do you make yourself successful at sticking to a healthy/clean diet? If any of you have recipe suggestions that you'd like to share, please send them my way!

RHOOC and a little update
Tonight is the start of the new season of Real Housewives of Orange County! I am so, so excited as they are my favorite "housewives". I think there is one new housewife and Jeanna is exiting the show...which is fine with me as I find Jeanna to be the least interesting--is that mean?
I haven't forgotten to give you guys the run down of what I learned at the MAC makeup seminar but I've been so busy moving and with school but I promise that post is coming SOON. Our new condo (which we're renting) is great, in a better location, and bigger than the apartment we just moved out of but the interior is not upgraded i.e. no granite counter-tops, has ugly doors/handles, ugly cabinets, and the paint job is, well...bad. I hate to admit that I was feeling down about this (I know there are much worse things to worry about) but we've hired a painter to come in next week and I bought new light fixtures to replace the hideous ones--pictures of that coming soon. I just need to keep in mind that we're not going to be here forever and we'll be buying our first house sooner rather than later.
Anyway, I hope you're all having a fabulous week!
